According to the Marble Institute of America, the following tips will keep your floors looking pristine all year long:
- Dust mop floors frequently using a clean, non-treated dry dust mop.
- Old or worn vacuum cleaners may do more harm than good because metal, plastic attachments or wheels may scratch the surface of the floor.
- Keep mats or area rugs inside and outside all entry points to keep sand, dirt and grit from scratching natural stone floors.
- Mats and rugs should have non-slip surfaces under the bottom to keep them in place.
